Spring Break 2010

Our classmates headed South and we headed North. Crazy? NO! We'd be crazy not to head north. J and I both love to ski, but unfortunately due to high ticket prices our skiing has been a bit limited this year. That was until we discovered the Sun Valley College Triple Play, ninety-nine dollars for three day passes. I love the Sun Valley Ski Resort, the mountain is steep, the runs are endless, and we never waited in line for more than sixty seconds. We had perfect weather, new snow and then forty degrees for the rest of the week.

Sun Valley the town on the other hand...talk about a swanky! We did find a couple affordable and delicious places to eat. Our favorite was the Burger Grill from four to seven PM everything was forty percent off and there soups, sandwiches, and burgers were incredibly fresh and tasty.

P.S. Thanks to my Father-in-law and Mother-in-law for teaching my wife how to ski!

My First Mule Deer

I stumbled across this picture of my best friend Landon and me with my first deer. I got this buck when I was fifteen. It was a pretty good first buck. It was by far the longest shot I have ever taken probably around 500 yards across a canyon. It was one of my favorite days.

Day Dreaming

I found this picture a while back and I thought I would share it with everybody. It is a picture of my Dad and I fishing in Yakutat Alaska. Probably taken about six or seven years ago.

"Thanks Dad for the best childhood ever!"

Honeymoon!

J and I skipped the first week of school and partied in Mazatlan Mexico. The weather was fantastic, the food was better, and the Ocean was a blast. J speaks Spanish and it was really nice to have a translator. Here are some pics of the adventure.

Eternity With My Best Friend

1:17 AM Who would have thought the night before I'm to marry my best friend I wouldn't be able to sleep? I tossed, turned, and even counted backwards from 100 in Chinese to see if I could get bored enough to fall asleep. Nothing has worked so far. So now I'm blogging listening to Miley Cyrus sing "Party In the USA" yikes. What else would I do at 1:24 AM?

"A love story on a hunting blog?" Can I do that?

J and I met over two and half years ago. I had no idea what the heavens had in mind the day we met, but by the third date I knew I wanted to marry her. J on the other hand didn't quite feel the same way. She was in love with another guy. I was patient and persistent. I got discouraged a few times and thought about moving on, but something deep inside me wouldn't let me. Eventually she started to like me and about the time she told me she loved me, she packed up and went on a mission for her church.

Over the next eighteen months J and I would write letters, but she wasn't very encouraging about our relationship. I tried to date other girls. Yet every time I thought I found a girl I could really like, that feeling deep inside me would come back and I knew the Heavens had bigger plans for me and they included J.

J came back and had little intentions of falling in love with me. Nine days later she told me she loved me and a month later we knew we wanted to get married.

On a side note. Everyone should know that J and I have more fun than any other two people on earth. From our first date when people saw us they could just see the fun oozing out of us.

We decided to get married. Our engagement didn't come without some major trials. I asked her parents if I could marry her and they said... well I don't know what they said. They didn't really say NO, but they sure didn't say YES. Apparently I'm pretty dense because I thought that meant we could do whatever the hell we wanted. Boy was I wrong.

Anyway six months later everyone is happy and it is finally happening tomorrow!

I hope she knows how much I love her! Here is to eternity!

Life's a Party

When the conditions are perfectly snowy and the snow plow hasn't quite made it to the hill there is a 1.1 mile stretch of road/sled hill that will make all of your wildest sledding fantasies come true.

This is how we started the new year!

Happy B Day To My Best Friend, and My Attempt At Baking

We are finally the same age! This girl makes me happier than I have ever been. She's the best example of kindness, smiling, and fun that you could ever imagine.

So when she said she wanted a chocolate cake for her B-day I decided I better do my best to get it done.

How hard could it be right? Well it turned out to be damn Hard!

I immediately thought of this cake, that I found on my, gourmet cook, sister's blog.

Well two days, lots of curse words, three times the amount of frosting to patch all the holes, and a dozen phone calls to my sister later we had this!
J shares her B-day cakes with her twin brother who is pretty cool too!

Doesn't quite look like my master chef sister's cake, but I thought it was pretty good for a first time cake baker.

Special thanks to my big sister for listening to me rant and curse on the phone for two days.
